Welcome back loyal reader! It feels good to be working on Natural Failure again with my good buddy Greg. I’m not really sure what sparked my interest in dredging this comic out and giving it another go, but part of it has to have something to do with Greg and I hanging out on a more regular basis. Now, I’m sure that explanations are in order. First and foremost this is not the first comic Greg and I worked on in the new run. We wrote a fun comic of our characters trying to get back into the swing of things, mimicking our real life experiences. After putting it together I came up with an idea for a story arc that will take us into comic #100, truly an achievement worth celebrating and quite deserving of an epic story arc. So where does that leave us? Our tale begins with a reference to X-men: Days of future past. We both liked the idea of a future that was so good that it was actually bad thing. For without the bad how do we truly know what’s good? There must be balance, for every yin there must be a yang. And if the future is full of good content, there must be bad content to contrast. It certainly makes me wonder where this will lead.
Your pal,
